This is a specialty dark roast. We could have named it something else that leaned into symbolizing total darkness the way most dark roasts do. But we don't like our coffee burnt. This does have a genuinely roasted profile. It’s bold, but not so far into the dark territory that it loses what made the bean worth roasting in the first place. If you’re expecting something dark and smoky, this isn’t it. You might say it’s just a Shadow of a dark roast.
